The African Art Centre in Glasgow Scotland is seeking an experienced or confident fundraising and business development professional to join our new team at Ibrox Govan. We are expanding our creative and performing arts programme and this key position will help to transform the scale, profile and nature of our work in the arts.

This role will have overall responsibility for developing partnerships and fundraising for our innovative and exciting arts and cultural programmes (Ancestral connections) that celebrate creative talent in Scotland and  continental African in the UK.

Working in partnership with the Chief Gift Kofi Amu- Logotse and the wider arts team to support development of creative and professional skills and improve connections, networks and exchange between the UK and continental Africa.

As an individual you will bring vision and ambition for the arts programme combined with high-level expertise and contacts. You will have an understanding if not the minimum five years’ experience working on partnerships in sponsorship, fundraising or business development roles and or a proven track record in securing sums in the region of £500K through fundraising. You will enjoy creative and collaborative working and bring with you experience of operating successfully in a complex, multicultural context.

Based in in Scotland but working across Continental Africa and the UK , you will work with colleagues, corporate partners, brands, artists and arts organisations on continental Africa and the UK to secure, develop and grow a range of partnerships that support delivery of arts programmes, events and projects to The African Art Centre in Glasgow Scotland’s standards and stakeholders’ satisfaction.

Key duties of this post include:
• bring on board new partners and sponsors for the The African Art Centre in Glasgow Scotland .
• secure and account-manage sponsors and partners for the African village in Scotland Project
• track opportunities and deliver successful applications
• contract negotiation and achieve income targets for our arts as a tool for development objectives.
• maintaining relationships with UK and African arts colleagues and arts sector
• project management and administration including financial, planning, risk and collaboration with our event management and production team.
